Sky Ranch Lodge sits on a mesa above Sedona, Arizona, with the red rocks spread out in every direction. It is not a subtle venue. On April 12, 2025, Angie and Patrick got married there, and the setting delivered.

The day started with getting ready shots in their suites, details, the dress, rings, invites, the quiet before everything begins. Then I walked Angie out to the lodge's clifftop overlook, where Patrick was waiting at the edge, facing the canyon. She tapped him on the shoulder, and the look of absolute adoration in his eyes when he turned was enough to pull at my heartstrings. What followed was a private vow exchange, just the two of them, handwritten words, and the full Sedona panorama as a backdrop. It was the perfect way for Angie and Patrick to share a moment that belonged to just the two of them before spending the rest of their day with their loved ones.

Angie carried one of the most spectacular bouquets I've shot, an oversized garden arrangement of anemones, ranunculus, lavender clematis and scabiosa, with trailing silk ribbons in purple and blue. The ceremony itself was held on the main terrace overlooking the full Sedona panorama, under a gold hoop arch flanked by loose clusters of colorful garden florals lining the aisle. They incorporated a handfasting, their hands bound together while they spoke their promises in front of everyone they love.

Just after their cocktail hour and before the reception began, we snuck away to the red rocks at the vortex down the hill from the venue for golden hour portraits. The canyon walls were catching the last of the light, going warm and amber, and Angie and Patrick got one last quiet moment together before heading back to the party.

The reception is where the disco garden party theme came fully to life. Inside the pavilion, a ceiling full of mirrored disco balls and starburst lights hung above a black and white checkered dance floor. Long farm tables were set with crystal glassware in blush and blue, glass charger plates, and gauze runners. The sweetheart table had a fringed pennant banner with bold retro typography. Outside, the welcome mirror had mini disco balls sketched into the design. The cake table was its own moment: a two-tier red velvet cake with white piped frosting, flanked by framed photos of their parents on their wedding days. Small details, but they added up.

As the night went on, guests made their way to a donut board loaded with glazed, caramel, and cinnamon varieties hanging on little hooks, and later to a Blue House Coffee Roasters cart set up for the end of the evening. An airstream trailer photo booth parked outside lit up with neon provided another way for guests to preserve their memories.

Angie and Patrick, thank you for letting me be part of your day. If you're planning a Sky Ranch Lodge wedding or anywhere else in Sedona, I'd love to hear from you.
